Site Planning & Preparation

Location Requirements

  • Level, stable surface (concrete pad recommended)
  • Minimum 3 feet clearance on all sides
  • Protected from direct water exposure
  • Access to electrical power (within 10 feet)
  • WiFi signal strength or ethernet access
  • Adequate ventilation space

Physical Mounting

Foundation Preparation

  1. Mark the installation area (check dimensions for your model)
  2. Ensure the surface is level using a spirit level
  3. Mark drill holes using the provided template
  4. Drill pilot holes with appropriate masonry bit
  5. Clean debris from holes

Size-Specific Dimensions

Small SecureBox: 18"W × 15"D × 12"H

Mounting holes: 4 × M10 bolts, 12" × 9" pattern

Minimum concrete thickness: 4 inches

Medium SecureBox: 24"W × 20"D × 16"H

Mounting holes: 6 × M12 bolts, 18" × 14" pattern

Minimum concrete thickness: 6 inches

Large SecureBox: 30"W × 25"D × 20"H

Mounting holes: 8 × M16 bolts, 24" × 19" pattern

Minimum concrete thickness: 8 inches

Securing the Unit

  1. Insert expansion anchors into drilled holes
  2. Position the SecureBox unit over the anchors
  3. Insert mounting bolts and tighten gradually in a cross pattern
  4. Torque to specification (check size chart above)
  5. Verify unit is level and secure

Power Connection

WARNING: Turn off power at the circuit breaker before proceeding

Electrical Requirements

  • 120V AC power supply (or 240V for international)
  • Dedicated 15A circuit recommended
  • GFCI protected circuit required
  • Proper grounding essential

Connection Process

  1. Locate the power input compartment on the rear of the unit
  2. Remove the weatherproof cover
  3. Connect the power adapter to the unit's power input
  4. Route the power cable through the provided conduit
  5. Connect to your power source following local electrical codes
  6. Install the backup battery in the designated compartment
  7. Connect battery cables (red to positive, black to negative)
  8. Replace all weatherproof covers

Battery Installation

The backup battery provides up to 72 hours of operation during power outages:

  1. Open the battery compartment (key required)
  2. Insert the battery pack with terminals facing out
  3. Connect the battery harness firmly
  4. Secure the battery with the retention bracket
  5. Close and lock the battery compartment

Network Connectivity

WiFi Configuration

  1. Power on the SecureBox unit
  2. Wait for the touchscreen to initialize (2-3 minutes)
  3. Tap "Setup" on the touchscreen
  4. Select "Network" from the menu
  5. Choose "WiFi Setup"
  6. Select your WiFi network from the list
  7. Enter your WiFi password using the on-screen keyboard
  8. Wait for connection confirmation
  9. Test connectivity by accessing the settings menu
WiFi Tips:
  • Ensure signal strength is at least -70dBm
  • Use 2.4GHz network for better range
  • Avoid special characters in WiFi passwords
  • Position unit within 50 feet of router

Ethernet Configuration

  1. Locate the RJ45 ethernet port on the rear panel
  2. Remove the weatherproof port cover
  3. Connect the provided ethernet cable
  4. Route cable through conduit to your network equipment
  5. Connect other end to your router or switch
  6. Power on the SecureBox unit
  7. Network should auto-configure via DHCP
  8. Verify connection on the touchscreen display
Ethernet Tips:
  • Use weatherproof cable glands for outdoor runs
  • Maximum cable length: 100 meters
  • Use shielded cable for electrical interference
  • Test cable continuity before final installation

Initial Setup & Configuration

First-Time Setup

  1. Download the SecureBox mobile app
  2. Create your account using the same email for warranty
  3. Tap "Add Device" in the app
  4. Scan the QR code on your device or enter serial number
  5. Follow the in-app setup wizard
  6. Set your master access code (6-8 digits)
  7. Configure backup access methods
  8. Test all access methods
